Top 10 Things to Do at Atwood Lake

If you’re looking for an Ohio getaway on a lake, the Atwood Lake Region is the perfect place to go this summer. There are so many activities for all ages to enjoy on and around the lake. Take a day trip to Atwood Lake or make it a longer vacation stay with hotel and camping options available. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite things to do at Atwood Lake to help you plan your trip!

1. Go Tubing or Boating at Atwood Lake

Are you craving some time on the water during the hot summer season? At Atwood Lake Boats, we have a variety of ways to enjoy a day on the water with family and friends. You can rent a tube for the day to float on the lake. Even better, upgrade to a boat rental with a tube, and have some fund riding the waves!

2. Walk, Hike, or Cycle the Paved Trails

Do you enjoy walking, hiking, or cycling surrounded by nature, water, and woods? Atwood Lake Park features beautiful paved trails for walking, bicycle riding, and hiking. There are a range of trails offering different lengths and challenges, so everyone from a seasoned hiker to a casual stroller can enjoy the experience. We recommend starting at the West Marina or Atwood Lake Campground. The trails include bridges and scenery to remember! There is even an observation tower you can visit with breathtaking views of the lake, park, and surrounding areas.

3. View the Osprey Nests at East Marina

Are you a bird watcher, or do you enjoy seeing animals in their natural habitats? While you’re visiting the Atwood Lake Region, make a short stop at our East Marina to see the Osprey nests. Then grab some lunch at the Atwood Dock Marina & Grill

4. Take the Kids for a Swim at Landzedge Waterpark at Atwood Lake Park Beach

Landzedge is a great destination for families who want to spend a day at the beach on Atwood Lake. Parents can sit back and soak up the sun while the kids enjoy the inflatable, on-the-water obstacle course, sure to keep them busy for hours! Of course everyone can take a dip in the lake to cool off. There are life guards on hand, bathroom facilities, and concessions available, so you have everything you need for your day out. 5. Feed the Carp at West Marina Dockhouse or East Marina

Whether you’re five or fifty, there’s something fun about interacting with animals in their natural environment. Get a close up view of Atwood Lake’s carp at either of our Marinas. You don’t need to bring your own food! Use our quarter feeding machines to remove the hassle and give the fish proper food to eat. Don’t let your visit end there – rent a boat for the day or dine out at one of our restaurants while you’re here! 

6. Have a Bite at One of Our Restaurants on Atwood Lake

Who doesn’t love on-the-water dining, especially when it’s a beautiful day? Visit one of our lakeside restaurants to relax and enjoy a meal and drink.

Atwood Dock Marina & Grille is located at our East Marina: 1601 Magnolia Rd SW, Dellroy, OH 44620. Not only do they have a great fast casual menu, but also offer regular events and entertainment. 7. Bring the Kids to the Playgrounds at Atwood Dam and Atwood Park

Did you know there are plenty of playgrounds for youngsters to visit that are available by car or by boat? It’s a great way for kids to connect with the outdoors and burn off some energy while experiencing the natural beauty of the Atwood Park region.

Atwood Dam is located on SR 212. This park is also accessible by boat, with docking available at the site.

Atwood Park Playgrounds

Visit the Atwood  Lake Park Camp Store & Activity Center  located at 9500 Lakeview Rd NE, Mineral City, OH 44656 to visit the playgrounds. Boat docking is available at the beach or you can visit by car.*
*Admission required if visiting in-season if visiting by car.

8. Get Ice Cream at Atwood Dari Bar or Dellroy Drive In

Cool down with a tasty ice cream at the Atwood Dari Bar or Dellroy Drive In. If you’re looking for something savory to enjoy before your sweet treat, both locations offer other food choices.

9. Geocaching at Atwood Lake, Ohio

If you haven’t been geocaching before, you’re going to love it at Atwood Lake! It’s a great way to get outdoors while challenging your mind too! Explore the grounds of Atwood Lake Park and the marinas with geocaching. 

Atwood Lake Park recently added a new Explore the Shores Geotrail, featuring 11 geocaches. You can download a passport, find all 11, then return the passport to Atwood Lake Park to claim a custom geocoin!

10. Go Shopping at Atwood Lake Boats Gift Shop & Boutique

Visit a longtime staple of Atwood Lake Boats, located inside the West Marina! Our store features gifts, logo clothing, shoes, souvenirs, and boating essentials. You’ll see some of your favorite brands like Yeti, Corkcicle, Reef, Unsalted Coast, Sperry, and O’Brien Watersports products.
